People meeting people. Carl Lumholtz’s photographs from Mexico and Arizona 1890-1910.

For six years and eight months between 1890 and 1910, Norwegian explorer Carl Lumholtz journeyed through the Sierra Madre Mountains and the Sonora Desert in Mexico to gain knowledge about the indigenous people who lived there. Along the way, he learned how to take photographs and wrote down his observations. A hundred years later, we get to see those he met through the images presented in this exhibition.
